This role requires the responsibility for inspection and prioritisation of renewal proposals, providing technical advice and support to the production of the national business plan. Your experience will enable you to develop allocated renewal and incremental enhancement schemes to meet Network Rail’s goals, supporting the development and implementation of projects to confirm that requirements are sufficient.
You’ll have an ability to specify acceptance criteria for engineering works including design approval and acceptance of equipment enabling hand back to maintenance as appropriate. You must also work with members of the team to review renewal and enhancement proposals to optimise engineering activity across the railway infrastructure system and identify critical technical problems. An ability to identify issues and check that accurate and comprehensive records are maintained will be required, ensuring that they accurately reflect their current ‘as built’ status. A key part of this role will be to participate in investigations of incidents relating to renewals where required.

Chartered Engineer status?
Proven ability to manage engineering activities in a business environment?
Expertise in engineering management in a safety critical industry?
Knowledge of policy and standards relating to Electrification & Fixed Plant engineering?
Extensive Electrification & Fixed Plant engineering experience related to renewals and enhancements?
