The Discipline Resource Managers role is to create, manage and deliver the Network Development forward capability plan such that all Network Development sourcing and competency requirements are met. In order to do this he or she will need to build a framework which develops the processes and mechanisms to manage and operate the resourcing model to allow the optimum deployment of the sponsor resources.

About the role

Within this high profile role you will review new project proposals/remits, and monitor progress so that realistic, achievable and effective plans are developed for delivery of the programme. The role will also involve identifying resourcing requirements needed to support the programme which will entail liaising with the Territory Delivery Planning Unit and national resource planning functions to resolve resourcing issues.

Excellent eye for detail will be needed to monitor data input by project teams and others to ensure cost and performance systems meet the required data standards. It will also be the Programme Control Manager’s responsibility to provide an efficient reporting structure to support the portfolio of complex projects within the programme.

You will be passionate about developing people and teams. This role is critical to developing a strong community of programme controls people. You will be responsible for planning, assignment, development and training of all programme controls staff and delivering a significant improvement in capability in this key discipline.

This role requires excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. The post-holder will have an exemplary track record in developing teams and individuals. Knowledge of Programme Controls is desirable but not essential. The role will suit individuals who find developing people one of the most rewarding parts of their current role.
