This will help us deliver the better railway that is vital for the economic prosperity of this country, transforming how people travel and make a massive difference to passengers and freight users right across Britain.
Specific responsibilities include the creation of business cases; development of new Measurement technologies and techniques; forecasting and monitoring project costs/ timescales and the progression of product acceptance.
The successful candidate is likely to be a qualified engineer working towards Chartered status with experience in a Research and Development team. Strong Project management skills with a proven ability to manage the product development process (from creation of investment cases through to end - to - testing and benefits delivery) are essential.
Essential:
• Experience in an electrical/ electronic research and development team
• Experience in systems end –to- end testing.
• Sound knowledge of S&T equipment
• MEng degree in an electrical/ electronic discipline
Desirable:
• Working towards IET chartered status
• Certified S&T instrumentation Engineer
• Development of investment papers
• Development of measurement systems
• Strong background in programming
Network Rail is planning to transfer certain activities of our business to a new National Centre which will open in Milton Keynes during 2012. You should be aware that this position may be included in this move.
The salary for this position is c£31,000 to £40,000 per annum plus benefits.
