The Job: Electrification Design Engineer – York
The Electrification team comprises approximately 18 engineering staff based within York, and Poland.
•Design and consultancy solutions for projects throughout the UK including Overhead Line System, Basic, Allocation, and Construction design, Electric Track Equipment design on a range of heavy and light rail projects
•To operate as part of a team involved the production of engineering designs for all aspects of electrification projects
•You will be required to work on projects from their inception through to the delivery of design; this will include feasibility, outline and detailed design through to construction and as-fitted design activities
•On site opportunities will be provided, including surveying, site management, inspection, testing and commissioning

Recent key projects include:
•High Speed 1; London St Pancras
•Kings Cross Station Redevelopment
•North London Railway Infrastructure Projects
•Reading Station Area

The Person: Electrification Design Engineer – York
•Ideally qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
•Skilled, highly motivated and enthusiastic engineer in the field of Railway Electrification Contact Systems.
•You will have relevant experience in the survey and design of overhead line equipment.
•Knowledge of CAD (microstation preferably) would be an advantage
•Delivering design projects against agreed specified remits, timescales and budgets.
•To undertake this role you will have design experience of electrification allocation or distribution design in heavy or light rail
•Familiarity and competence in the use of relevant design tools, and knowledge of Network Rail and the Industry, British and other European standards and codes
•You must be personable and capable of functioning within a team
•This is a highly challenging and rewarding role that will require demonstrable technical ability and experience
