Reporting to the Head of Systems Engineering, this role is responsible for oversite of Engineering activity in a region and is the lead Engineer in client engagement activity. This person will combine a rich understanding of the Systems Engineering process with strong client engagement skills.

Key Accountabilities
• Ensuring implementation of consistent, highly productive systems engineering practice across the region
• Acting as champion of cross-location and cross-functional collaboration across region
• Building strong, productive working relationships with Project Delivery Directors, Systems Engineering Capability Group Manager and Project Managers
• Providing leading engineering expertise into key client engagement activity
• Providing peer support and mentorship to Project Engineers to help balance the demands of engineering excellence and project delivery
• Creating an environment that enables high performance delivery of teams and individuals
• Establishes strong engineering delivery team for projects
• Oversees engineering decision making and givernance of critical engineering process
• Coaching & development of senior engineers

Essential Skills & Experience
• Has knowledge of the whole systems engineering lifecycle and an understanding of business case generation, resource planning, and budgetary control.
• Capable of setting and contributing to the strategy for a System / Product / department possibly on behalf of Invensys Rail Systems.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills along with task time and people management.
• Able to apply sound critical reasoning and analytical skills to relevant engineering discipline and processes.
• Commercial awareness - able to forecast required Engineering resource requirements and cost
• Safety culture aware - to be to influence and develop existing safety culture and practice in light of latest thinking
• Strong leadership qualities including personal drive, persuasive communications skills, enthusiasm and support for company goals
