PURPOSE :
A Field Service engineer is required to act as the Clients representative in the field in front of its customers (either the carbuilder or the transit authority). The Field Service Engineer is required to provide support on the Clients door system to the customers during the commissioning period, and the remainder of the warranty period during which the customer’s cars are put into service.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF FIELD SERVICE PERSONNEL :
Develop a solid and thorough understanding of the door system and its electrical and mechanical components.
Assist the car builder with the installation of the door systems.
Assist the car builder and the transit authority during the car commissioning
and warranty phases of the project by providing support for the door system
both at Derby and London, UK.
Troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical problems on the door system.
Confirm the problem identified by either the car builder or the transit authority. Reproduce the identified problem before undertaking repairs or parts replacements.
Identify and isolate defective mechanical and electrical components of the door system.
Repair and/or replace defective components of the door system.
Represent the Client at review meetings with the customer.
Participate in conference calls with Project Management and Client.
