We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to be based in Burnley, with occasional travel when required on a 24 month Fixed Term Contract, to work for an international Aerospace high-technology group, operating in the aircraft propulsion and equipment, space and defense markets. With a global presence, more than 58,000 employees and sales of 16.5 billion euros in 2017.

This department is central within the production organisation to ensure we produce quality products in the best competitive method. The position would initially be to support the assembly team.

Job description
Working on industrialisation and project activities with in the sheet metal UAP. You need to able to work to tight deadlines , have good written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to coordinate and manage relationships with internal and external customers both in the UK and France.

The ideal candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and be motivated by completing tasks in a timely manner. You also need to be self driven, resourceful, independent whilst still working in a team environment, be target driven and be able to communicate at all levels of the business. You will be required to communicate opportunities and work within the operational and design teams to develop most efficient ways to use people, parts and tooling. Highlighting areas that can be improved and working with the operations team to implement these changes by creating action & timing plans that can be used to measure the implementation progress.

Candidate skills & requirements
• Manufacturing Engineering experience, with a good understanding of sheet metal and the manufacturing processes
• Good knowledge of Metallic materials (Titanium, Aluminium).
• Experience of using / implementing lean and Quality tools
• DATA management (drawings, Catia V5, master layouts, b atch cards)
• SAP Skills (routings, materiel masters, BOMs)

Education Requirements;
A minimum of a relevant HNC qualification (Engineering) is required however a B.Sc. Degree in a relevant subject is preferable.
