We are working with one of the UKs Leading Engineering consultancy who have a global presence looking to expand their Geotechnical design team in the Manchester office working major on infrastructure schemes such as HS2 and Smart Motorways. 

Within the position you will provide support in all aspects of Geotechnical project delivery including client liaison, contractors and sub consultants, public and statutory body consultation, quality control, management of specialists which includes coordinating and managing multidisciplinary teams working on geotechnical projects.

You will have a detailed knowledge and understanding of the geotechnical aspects of civil engineering design and construction principles and standards which includes a proven track record of relevant experience in Geotechnical engineering design. You will have the ability to manage geotechnical design teams within a multi-disciplinary environment together with an understanding of design submission documentation and processes.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major engineering consultancy working on wide range of projects and could suit a Geotechnical design engineer with 5+ years right up to Principal/Associate level.

Job Requirements

- Working knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes, ground investigation and construction contracts and specifications.
- Familiarity and ability to interrogate a wide range of geotechnical software for the design of civil engineering projects including deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis), embedded and gravity retaining walls, earthworks/slope stability and reinforced earthworks. Familiarity with the use of geotechnical software for the management, review and presentation of ground investigation and geotechnical data and able to guide and manage others to follow current best practice.
- Experience in the delivery of geotechnical projects, including preparing reports to a high technical level. Understanding of client requirements and the ability to influence contract specifications.
- Have technical expertise in geotechnical engineering with a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles.
