We are looking for the right person for an exciting opportunity as the Head of Environmental, Health & Safety for Gatwick Airport, Reporting directly to the Director of EHS.

As the Head of EHS, you will have responsibility for oversight of all EHS matters residing within their client area and from the respective Business Unit/Programme Managers. Whilst Business Unit/Programme Managers have principal accountability for EHS performance, you would be responsible for the implementation of management systems to ensure compliance and continuous improvement, including ISO -14001 and OHSAS -18001. You will also be able to communicate clear and concise goals, while also maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach to achieving goals and be able to use metrics to coach Managers and provide strategic, tactical and operational support as necessary to focus and energise the Business Units/Programmes to deliver positive change.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders

Graduate calibre or equivalent.

Chartered Health & Safety professional with an accredited Institution (i.e. IOSH), with expertise in Health, Safety and Environmental compliance at a senior level.

IEMA Associate Certificate

Lead Auditor training for OHSAS 18001 or ISO 14001

Proven track record in the delivery of EHS objectives associated typically with extensive experience.

Strong leadership and supervisory skills and experience.

Airport operational experience preferable.

Demonstrated ability to establish a functional strategy to set and meet stretch targets

Excellent written and oral communications.

Persuasive with strong influencing skills across all levels.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Strong decision maker effectively driving change and continuous improvement.

Kelvin TopSet Lead Investigator

Strong Microsoft office skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Knowledge of data systems and ability to use IT to collect, analyse, interpret and present information
