I am looking to place a Structural Engineer / CSA Engineer with Nuclear design experience in an international engineering consultancy`s Whitehaven office for nuclear new-build, refurbishment and decommissioning projects.

The Firm
The firm is an international engineering consultancy with a 70-year history, operating in all sectors of the built environment across the Globe. The firm partners with major nuclear and defence clients on top of their conventional projects to offer a high-level integrated service for new-build, refurbishment and decommissioning projects.

About You
You will have relevant education in engineering and likely have a number of years in a similar large-scale consultancy environment or have worked client-side for a few years and are looking to utilise your experience in a consultancy environment. You will be a confident design engineer, able to utilise relevant industry software (Autodesk / Tekla packages or similar) and will be able to integrate as part of a large-scale dedicated team. You will be working towards / recently attained Chartered Engineer status with either the ICE or IStructE.

As part of your time in the Nuclear industry, it is likely you will have experience of calculating blast, loading and seismic effects and an appreciation of non-linear buckling behaviour, soil-structure interaction and safety critical design for nuclear facilities.

Role Requirements

- Relevant education Civil/Structural Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)
- Working towards / recently attained Chartered ICE/IStructE membership
- Relevant experience within Civil/Structural Engineering in a Nuclear setting
- Relevant software experience in Autodesk / Tekla / similar packages

- SC Clearance + P4 Pass (desirable)

- UK National / able to obtain SC

- British Standards / Eurocodes experience
