We are looking for a Central Quality Engineer, to cover Maternity on a 12-month Fixed term contract, to be based in Burnley, with occasional travel when required, to work for an international Aerospace high-technology group, operating in the aircraft propulsion and equipment, space and defense markets. With a global presence, more than 58,000 employees and sales of 16.5 billion euros in 2017.


To implement quality policy and quality objectives within Burnley with a particular focus on:

Providing support to the business for external audits and QMS topics
Implementing and managing the internal audit program
Implementing robust and systematic corrective and preventive actions and process improvements
Providing support to the business with Quality IT tools
Supporting the management of company records and standards
Assisting in the implementation & training of the Quality Management System.
Your Knowledge and experience of aerospace or automotive quality standards (eg. ISO 9000, EN 9100) and/or regulations (eg. EASA Part 21G/145)

Duties include:
Ensuring compliance to external requirements and approvals such as EASA Part 21G, EN9100, NADCAP and customer.
Reviewing and proposing draft harmonised procedures for compatibility with practices/approvals and updating them to ensure agility in the system.
Working with external bodies (eg. suppliers, audit bodies ) to manage day-to-day activities and to lead/implement improvement projects with them.
Monitoring, conducting and/or assisting with internal and external audits.
Ensuring timely closure of Internal and External Corrective Action Requests with the focus on reducing their recurrence.
Assisting in the deployment and use of Quality IT portals eg OSR, Actions, Audits
Managing the training plan for key Quality approvals eg auditors, release signatories.
Ensuring company records are managed and comply with defined retention periods & requirements.

Candidate skills & requirements:
Good persuasion, influencing, negotiation, planning and organisational skills
Experienced Auditor - Essential
Ability to use quality & Microsoft tools to a good level
Experience of training or facilitating workshops/groups of people
