We are currently looking for an amazing Lead Surveyor, in the rail sector, on a permanent basis.

You would be working nights and weekends due to the nature of the work and a van and fuel card would be provided.

Purpose of the Role
- To carry out topographical and railway surveys
- To carry out surveys to the requirements of the survey specifications in contracts or to the requirements of Designers
- To lead a team of one or more Surveyors in carrying out surveying activities
- To accurately and reliably produce survey data to present to clients or Designers

You will be able to:

- Establish calibration and maintenance regimes for all survey equipment.
- Be proficient in carrying out all aspects of Cat and Gen utility tracing and reporting.
- Have experience of 3D AutoCAD.
- Train junior members in all site surveys.
- Produce survey data accurately and rapidly.
- Be able to understand and translate RICS and Network Rail surveying standards into site practice.
- Selection and operation of the appropriate survey equipment and survey software packages.
- Where the Lead Surveyor is a COSS/SWL. Act as ‘Person In Charge’ on behalf of PBH Surveys, liaising with the planning team to ensure compliance with the NR/L2/OHS/019 ‘Safety of people at work on or near the line’
- Actively demonstrate support for the implementation of the PBH Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives.
- Be competent to a level to enable the training of Surveyors in the following survey techniques; Traversing, Topographical and detailed surveying, Levelling, Gauging and GPS / GNSS operation

Qualifications Needed:

- Be a member of RICS / ICES or working to achieve Chartered Status or a minimum of HND in surveying or Mapping science.
- A valid PTS certification would be an advantage, but not essential.
