We are currently working with a leading consultancy based in the Midlands regions, specifically Birmingham, looking to recruit for a Technical Director within their Highways team, to drive projects from a technical standpoint in which you would be working on some of the leading Highway schemes within the UK.  This is an excellent position which could suit an experienced Senior Highways Design Engineer or Principal Highways Design Engineer with experience in driving projects and managing juniors Engineers and Technicians, looking to make that next step up. 

Within the position you will be responsible for leadership, growth and development of the regional highway team interfacing with clients, contractors and third parties. You will manage project delivery including financial management and monitoring, providing technical direction to design engineers, graduates and technicians. You will still have to option to get stuck in technically in the preparation of proposals and designs at feasibility, optioneering, planning and detailed design stages. 

Salary is negotiable dependent on experience, taking into account Chartership, experience etc. 


Job Requirements

- Good working knowledge of different contract types and procurement options including but not limited to NEC3. 
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer
- Thorough understanding and practical application of the DMRB 
- Experience of managing projects and providing guidance to Highway Engineers and Technicians
