Our Client, a major Train Operating Company, is looking for a Safety & Quality Engineer to join the team who maintain, improve and co-ordinate the quality, environmental and safety management systems for the TOC. Based in East London, the Safety & Quality Engineer will provide a proactive and enthused approach to continually promote an efficient and effective delivery of our Quality and Safety culture.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- To review, validate, control and implement both Production and company-wide documentation and recognised best business practice.
- Provide assistance to the Engineering team for the revision, creation and implementation of procedures forming part of the Quality and Safety Management System.
- Carry out audits, inspections, surveys as directed as part of the compliance monitoring process for the Quality and Safety Management Systems.
- Assist in external audits of Depot activities by third parties such as Railtrack and others, and undertake audits of contracted maintenance organisations.
- Involvement in development of departmental training requirements in co-operation with departmental managers.
In order to be successful in application for the Safety & Quality Engineer role, you will:
- have a minimum of the NEBOSH Nat Cert or equivalent and an understanding of health and safety Legislation, ISO Standards and auditing.
- have experience within a safety and/or quality focus environment, preferably within rail/engineering/productions/automotive or similar industry.
- demonstrate a strong capability to identify a problem and create a suitable and realistic solution
- have experience of co-ordinating projects and delivering them on time and to spec.
- have a friendly and respectful manner and demonstrating an ability to work co-operatively with others.
- have knowledge of Safety Critical Working Regulations
- some experience of Quality and Safety Management Systems, process development and change management is desirable.
