The Electrification & Plant Design Group, part of the Investment Projects function of NR, lead the engineering development of E&P schemes from the feasibility stage through to option selection and outline design, occasionally also producing detailed designs.. The Group supports projects ranging in size from new electrification and enhancement schemes delivered by Investment Projects, to renewals delivered by the Asset Management function. The department comprises specialist teams providing a highly skilled and experienced service in the sub-disciplines of Distribution & Plant, Contact Systems and Protection & Control.
Specifically, the vacancy is for a Design Engineer within the Contact Systems team. Whilst the main base of the team is in London, we have an outbase in Rugby and are in the process of extending the team to Swindon, York and Birmingham. You will support the Senior Design Engineer with engineering development of allocated proposals from clarification of remit to the completion of outline design.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential as the position will involve working and interacting within a team of Design Engineers.
