Description:

- Responsible for liaising with the commissioning engineers in the investigation of maintenance and safety defects for vehicles and Depot and ensuring compliance with customer and UK legislative requirements.
- Responsible for designing solutions and gaining customer / regulatory approval for changes in train design.
- Assist in the development of documented engineering procedures, practices and policies.
- Responsible for those activities relating to design modifications and subsequent applications for customer / regulatory approval for changes.
- Assist in the co-ordination of continuous improvement programmers to ensure contractual requirements are achieved and exceeded.
- Assist maintenance with in-depth faults, passing on fault finding skills and the use of schematics on traction and rolling stock assets by instruction of the Engineering Manager
- To liaise with Procurement / Maintenance Team members during the assessment and approval of new material suppliers to ensure that Maintenance, H & S and environmental needs are adequately identified / addressed.
- Work closely with the Performance Engineer to identify the root cause of defects, ascertain if the problem is fleet wide and address as necessary.
- To confirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications by the use of engineering processes and techniques
- Production of Depot Safety Case reports / documentation in liaison with Engineering Manager, Production Managers and QHSE Manager.
- Deputise for Engineering Manager during holidays / periods of absence.
- Liaison with internal and external personnel as required to complete the duties of the post

Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in product improvement and reliability engineering on UK rolling stock
- A minimum of a HND qualification in Engineering
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Package to a high standard

My client requires an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial team on 2x Projects while a permanent employee is found. If you wish to go in to a permanent position you will be reviewed after the 3 month period to see if you wish to join on a full time basis.

The projects are with in the construction sector working on Healthcare new build with an RC Frame and a mixed use development. A Project Quantity Surveyor is in place on each site but as both sites are around 10million in value an Assistant Q/S is only require for a few days at a time on each site.

You will be supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with reports, updating spread sheets and sub-contractor payments for the project. Once completed you will then move on to the next project constantly based between the 2 sites.

Your role will be providing the technical design support in managing the design process from consultancy, planning, client and project delivery. The areas you and your team will look after will be:-

• Services - handling the designs for the utilities for the site, looking after the Gas, Electric and Water from initial design through to installation and final connection.
• Land development - looking after the site clearance, land contamination and new infrastructure on site [Sewers, roads, drainage, lighting etc.]
• Groundwork's - Dealing with the designs for the ground works for the site from the clearance through to foundation installation.
• Architectural Designs - Managing this process once the foundations are laid through the building of the housing units.

You won't be doing any designing yourself just reading, understanding and controlling the process. An eye for detail is essential being able to identify potential problems that may arise as the project develops.

Background / Qualifications
You background can be very open coming from either a Civil Engineering background with in the Housing sector.

The other option is from the Architectural background with a good understanding of how the civil engineering aspects work on a housing development.

You will have good knowledge of (IRS), warranty providers (i.e. NHBC, Robust details, and Building Regulation Application).

You will have technical assessment knowledge i.e. CfSH/BREEAM information, warranties, certificates etc.

Qualifications is a must; Degree or Architectural Technician - Design related OR Civil Engineering - HNC / HND

Role Description
My client is looking for a Property Manager to work on residential developments and Block Management across private use developments.

Typical day to day tasks can include:-
• Annual Service Charge Budgets; From calculation and setting to delivery
• Client Contact; liaison between Residents, Freeholders, Developers and Contractors
• Insurance; liaison with broker over provision of Buildings, Directors and Officers, Engineering and Public Liability cover
• Meetings; Annual General with residents, Committee with residents' representatives, with developer and with Housing association
• Site Attendance; inspections/visits, planned and sporadic

This role does require travelling based out of a regional office but covering the North West Region of London and South West Region of London. You will be given a set portfolio of Residential / Blocks to manage alongside other Property Managers covering other regions anything for 600units to 1000units depending on the size of the blocks and region you will cover.

Required qualifications / experience
As Residential Property Manager/Block Manager you will have worked within Block/Leasehold management. Be familiar with Landlord and Tenant legislation and the Companies Act and have good all round property management experience.

Ideally having a Professional membership of the Institute of Residential Property Managers (IRPM) but for the right candidate this can be obtained while in this position.
