Job Purpose:

Key Accountabilities:
 
The successful candidate will lead and direct the logistics team to achieve business and functional objectives along with meeting key performance measures. You’ll be required to maintain all allocated stores and compound in a safe efficient manner and manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence. You must minimise wastage of materials and manage the disposal of waste in accordance with standards and procedures. You’ll identify and report on recurring defects in plant and materials along with managing maintenance and calibration of small plant, tools and equipment. Your experience will be required to check that all unoccupied, operational and occupied buildings are maintained to standards. You’ll drive improvement and efficiencies in the management of small plant and equipment as well as identify and implement performance, safety, reliability and efficiency improvement initiatives in staff. You must maintain optimum stock levels to avoid shortages and any impact on work delivery. You’ll also act as the client for accommodation and building projects and undertake an agreed programme of safety tours and staff surveillance.

Ideally, my client is looking for someone who is driven, self sufficient and happy to take the lead. Therefore, having excellent communication skills and a high ability to liaise between clients and other contractors is essential.

Key Accountabilities:
 
·         Devise and develop local strategies and activities to deliver suitable intervention programmes aimed at all the identified stakeholders in the community to meet the objectives of the Network Rail Safety and Environment Plan.
·         Prioritise and implement the most efficient and effective local programmes to deliver the objectives set out in the Network Rail safety and environment plan.
·         Build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders who may also deliver this type of educational programme to establish a cross industry approach.
·         Act as the local representative on relevant internal groups.
·         Responsible for developing a programming of visits and events on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, annually).  Work closely with appropriate colleagues and industry partners to deliver consistent communications regarding these visits/events.
Work in close co-ordination with the stakeholders to monitor the effectiveness of the programme.  Analyse data and produce reports as required and identify clear actions in response to these reports
