From the rejuvenation of King’s Cross station and the upgrade and expansion of Thameslink, to Europe’s largest civil engineering project – Crossrail - we are involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures the UK has ever seen. This will help us deliver the better railway that is vital for the economic prosperity of this country, transforming how people travel and make a massive difference to passengers and freight users right across Britain.

Human Resources (HR) provides support on all people-related issues for Network Rail. We’re responsible for creating an environment that attracts and engages high-performing individuals to deliver engineering and operational excellence for Britain’s railway. Our approach is a mature and pragmatic one, challenging where appropriate and professional in all areas of delivery.

Network Rail’s Competence and Training organisation delivers an effective competence and development service in order to continuously improve safety, performance, engagement and esteem. Competence and Training strives to capture the routine business and forward plan emerging requirements to ensure Network Rail meets its operational requirements and workforce development remit, deliver the training needed to meet Network Rail's Competency Framework Requirements, and invest in our people and resources to ensure quality is inherent from the start in our service and products.

You’ll recognise the value of technical, safety and vocational training and realise how it can measurably improve the focus of our workforce. As an influential learning professional you will have the confidence to be at the forefront of our transformation which will see you deliver value-for-money tuition in line with the annual training plan whilst adjusting content around individual business functions.

We will look to you to work on the development, design and impact of our training programmes. And as such you’ll continuously work towards improving safety, performance, engagement and esteem, measuring the proficiency and capabilities of employees, and the business impact of all training you deliver.

Your skills:
- Able to deliver inspirational technical, safety and vocational training shaped for the learner, you’ll provide stimulating, high-quality material that sits within our standards, regulations & working instructions.

- You’ll recognise the importance of excellent customer service, engaging with delegates and providing an environment that motivates them to learn.

- As a Network Rail Manager, you’ll always comply to safety procedures, actively promoting our behaviours, values, processes, policies and corporate messages, and ensure safety awareness at all times.

- You’ll continuously monitor and develop your own technical and educational proficiencies. Taking an active part in Content Review Groups and Skills Forums you’ll develop and improve training and assessment materials, along with aids, documentation and equipment.

- Assessing both the capabilities of delegates and the impact of training, you’ll assist the Technical Training Delivery Manager in identifying and evaluating trends in performance and value.

- Positively contributing to the continuous improvement of the Training Centre, you’ll support the Training Delivery Manager to analyse programme design, evaluation, team dynamics, centre performance and reputation. You’ll look towards constant enhancements of internal quality procedures and work instructions, training facilities and resources.

- We are looking for applicants with Small and Large Plant experience.
