What is the Role? I am working with one of the many client organisations involved with the Construction of the Major Crossrail Stations and their interface with the other railway systems. I am looking for 3 Construction Planners with delay analyst skills; to join the clients project team now, to help understand any programme variance as the project progressives, rather than retrospectively in litigation etc In a sense, a kind of ``poacher come gamekeeper`` role. This is a construction function rather than civil infrastructure function as you will be dealing with major stations rather than the surrounding infrastructure. Ideally you will have worked within a large contractor, so when you take up this role within the client, you can comfortably work alongside the main contractors involved and ensure any changes to the programme is dealt with prior to them becoming ``major issue``. The key is to work with the Contractors to prevent any problems occurring in the future.

Role Description:
Experienced Rail Site / Section Engineers are required to work on Station upgrade projects. You will need to have Rail experience with a PTS for this position. This role is working on station upgrade projects with your role over seeing the junior engineers and quality checking the work carried out. As it is station projects civil engineering is required but on build projects such as Lift shafts, stairs, platforms and new build waiting rooms.

Your responsibilities will vary on a daily basis depending on your experience and level of your abilities but they could include:

- Checking/setting out/undertaking quality control of early works on site
- Carrying out quality control of new road ways and drainage
- Reporting in to the Sub Agent giving updates
- Overseeing a group of Site Engineers
- Giving update meetings to Sub Contractors and Engineers
- Dealing with technical queries

Required Experience:
Experience with in the rail industry, ideally on station projects. You must have or had a PTS and be able to have a refresher course pior to starting on site. A civil engineering qualification is also required to support your experience. This can be either ONC, HNC, HND or degree.

This role is in sense is a traditional Commercial Manager taking full responsibility for the project finances from start to finish. This will be from tender stage through to completion working hand in hand with the project manager. You will be responsible for the tendering/bidding on various projects in the rail infrastructure sector which covers OHL, P-Way, Signalling, Power and Civil Engineering.

Once the project has been won you will be managing the commercial team on site, depending on the size and scale this maybe your sole project or this may be overseeing up to 5 smaller sites.
